I managed to squeeze Sam in for another session on his leg before he heads back out to sea today. We ran out of time to finish the top section but loving the flow of this so far. Helen and Greg wanted a matching but not matching tattoo based on their favourite movie, Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window. We talked it through together and they had a pretty clear idea what they wanted included so I just put it all together for them, and this is the result. It’s a sea themed tattoo design! With an OCTOPUS!! I mean that’s pretty much top of my “stuff I like to tattoo the most” list. Thanks for trusting me with this Sam, really appreciate the freedom. Sam works as a musician on a cruise liner so wanted to record this part of his life with a sea-life themed leg sleeve! F@*king winning! He gave me a list of creatures he’d like included and sent me some images of a few tattoos I’d done in the past so I had in idea of what he liked, otherwise he gave complete freedom. It’s so cool when clients do that. ?. Check out my stories for a video of the design process. I often use images I’ve found online (I try my best to avoid using ai images but it’s getting more difficult to tell ?) and build a design from that, but with sea creatures particularly, I like to draw as much as I can. I then use photos as a references when tattooing the final piece to help get a slightly more realistic finish. I’m back!!! Well, I’m back on Wednesday officially but I guess I should fall in line with the algorithm and do the year end video, a week late. ?? I’ve had a great 2025! We moved off our boat in November 2024 and sold it in March 2025 so we’re firmly on dry land now, my dad turned 70, I spent some quality time with family and friends, had an amazing holiday and met some great people through tattooing. Thanks as always for your continued support, i really am so thankful i get to do what I love as a job and I couldn’t do it without great clients! I look forward to meeting some more new people this year and hopefully hanging out with familiar faces too! See you all soon! Thanks so such for coming to me for this piece Dan, absolutely loving it so far. Dan gave me a lot of freedom with this design, he just wanted something based on the work of Francois Delaroziere (check him out it’s unbelievably cool stuff!) and also the invention drawings of Da Vinci, that is still come. The only boundaries were it had to fit in with what he already has. The band around his forearm is by the super talented @offlinetattoos so a total honour to work with that. We ended up changing the Dino from my original design as Dan wanted a slightly different feel, which happens now and again, but it was cool we worked it out and I’m super happy with how it turned out! Beth won my competition a little while ago and got a half day sitting for free! ??. She wanted a depiction of Athena, so this what we came up with. We got the surrounding elements done in around 3 or 4 hours a week or two ago and we added Athena today, that took around 6 hours. 9 hours plus in all which Beth breezed with no issues at all.
